The 4th Annual American StreetBall Classic will be held on Saturday, October 20, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Attack Athletics. The tournament, sponsored by PERL Mortgage, brings together teams to take part in 3-on-3 basketball competitions, will benefit Imerman Angels.  Imerman Angels provides personalized connections that enable 1-on-1 support among cancer fighters, survivors and caregivers. For a person newly diagnosed with cancer, no amount of media attention on the disease can substitute for a knowing companion who can empathize with their disease, someone who has been the patient themselves. Imerman Angels’ mission is to ensure no one faces cancer alone.

The tournament raises money from team sign-ups, sponsorships and spectator donations.  This year’s event will honor, Chicago Bears player Adam Podlesh and former New York Knicks Director of Basketball Administration and currently Director of Sales at MTV, Ian Mahoney for their perseverance in their brave fight against cancer.  The two battled cancer at the same time and are both in remission.

Celebrities slated to attend are Jerry Azumah, former Chicago Bears’ Pro Bowler; Jim Rose, sports anchor for ABC-7; Kahlil Bell, NFL Running Back; and Randy Brown, three time NBA Champion.

“The focus of this charity basketball event is to improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities,” said Sharbel Shamoon, Private Mortgage Banker at PERL Mortgage and event founder. “Through this event we can energize and inspire people to make a difference, craft human care agendas across our communities and reflect the diversity of the communities we serve.”

We hope to see you there!
