Alright let’s get serious Chicago, serious about taking the Special Olympics Illinois Polar Plunge! What is the Polar Plunge you ask?  It’s a unique opportunity to support Special Olympics athletes by taking a flying leap – a leap into the frigid waters of an Illinois lake with your friends, family, co-workers, bodyguards, baristas, train-mates or anyone who’s willing and brave enough.  In 2015, there will be Plunges in 21 locations, 7 of which are in the Chicagoland area, so no excuses.

When you take the Polar Plunge, you raise important funds for Special Olympics Illinois. Because you Plunge, nearly 22,000 Special Olympics athletes get to compete year-round for free! Special Olympics Illinois is a not-for-profit organization offering year-round training and competition in 19 sports for nearly 22,000 Traditional Athletes with intellectual disabilities and nearly 21,000 Young Athletes ages 2-7 with and without intellectual disabilities.
