Hemmingbirds Record Release Party at Schuba’s

Hey all, this is Yoo Soo Kim from Hemmingbirds! 

My Chicago-based band will be celebrating the release of our new EP, Half a Second, this Friday, February 26th at Schuba’s Tavern. We were recently featured on Do312 as one of “16 Bands & Artists to Watch in 2016,” and we have drawn comparisons to The National, Phoenix and The Strokes, amongst others. 

 Our aim is to write songs with anthemic arrangements and infectiously catchy pop melodies, and Half a Second ranges from straight-up rock jams to fuzz-drenched dance tunes to epic space ballads. For our new album, we sought to maintain our core identity as a guitar-based band while implementing synths and electronic production.

 We will be playing with Carbon Tigers and The Noise FM. Tickets for the gig can be purchased here. The show begins at 10pm and the cover is $10 in advance and $12 at door.
