Have you ever run for an important cause? If not, the Pink Path Run 5K can be your first! You don’t have to be a marathoner to run for a good cause – just lace up your running shoes, embrace the crisp autumn air and head to Diversey Harbor in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month for Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation’s 3rd Annual Pink Path Run 5k.

The USATF certified 5k course and CARA certified Emerging Race takes place on Saturday, October 15th at Diversey Harbor, (2601 North Cannon Drive, in Lincoln Park). All ages are welcome to spend a vibrant morning running, walking or volunteering at this benefit.

As many Chicagoans know, the Lynn Sage Cancer Research Foundation (LSCRF) has been a proud advocate in breast cancer research for the past 30 years. Since its inception in 1985, LSCRF has raised over $31 million toward advancing the understanding, education, and importance of early detection of breast cancer.

This year’s Pink Path Run is dedicated to the memory of LSCRF Board Member and Appellate Court Justice, Laura Liu. Miranda Rae Mayo, series regular on NBC drama, “Chicago Fire,” will serve as the event’s honorary chair, while Veronica Garza from the cast of Emerald City Theatre’s A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS will perform the National Anthem.

All ages are invited to participate in this event. The run begins at 9:00 a.m., followed by walkers then strollers. Just for kids, the Pink Path Run’s Kids Dash invites children twelve and under to run at their own pace in a fun filled race starting at 10:15 a.m.

So what are you waiting for? Create your perfect pink outfit, pack up the family and enjoy an exciting way to raise breast cancer awareness!
