Party For My Twitter & Facebook Friends!

I have enjoyed the friendships, talks, news, info, feedback… So much on twitter and facebook, that I promised my 1st 10,000 twitter followers and all my buddies on Facebook a party- and even asked them to help me plan it! Many asked to break the party into multiple events w/ different dates to choose from, everyone wanted killer food, live music, sports, drinks, fun giveaways and some were kind enough to say they wanted it to benefit a good cause… so here’s what I came up with!

1st party: Saturday, feb 19th, 7p-9p, some of the most talented blues performers in Chicago, (like Jimmy Warren, Tom Crivellone, Will Jacobs, Dan Phelps, Khalfani Makalani and Thaddeus Krolicki) are donating their time to a nonprofit organization called “Blues Beautillion” that pairs established artists with emerging blues musicians to keep the Chicago blues thriving. They’re going to play live for us at Rockit while enjoying the best in food, drinks and fun! Please we’ll have a killer raffle comprised of awesome prizes ranging from theatre, sports, beauty, music and more!

2nd party: Thursday, feb 24th, 7-9p, the chicago blackhawks & other friends gave me a ton of giveaways (and yes, I’m giving a some tix away to games to guests in attendance!) to share at a blackhawks viewing party I will host at rockit wrigley w/food, drinks, giveaways & more! Restaurateur Billy Dec throws a party for his 1^st 10,000 Twitter followers to keep the Blues thriving!

Chicago, IL- After the smashing success of Billy Dec’s recent Social Media Anniversary Party on February 3rd where Dec, his talking avatar & his social media network raised nearly $6,000 in two hours soon after the great “Blizzard 2011” for the Greater Chicago Food Depository (http://bit.ly/eYWxzp), he is now turning the party he promised to his first 10,000 followers on Twitter, into another opportunity to raise money for a great local cause.

The organization Dec is choosing to support is the Chicago Blues Beautillion that pairs established Blues artists with young emerging Blues musicians in a wonderful mentoring program to keep the Chicago Blues alive and thriving. “I have been a fan of the Blues my whole life, and love my new found friends on Twitter, so, I thought it would be super cool to combine them in a way that would not only be a blast for all, but would help young local blues talent reach their dreams and create a bright future in music strongly associated with our culture” Dec says.

The event will take place on Saturday, February 19 from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Dec’s restaurant Rockit Bar & Grill (22 W. Hubbard). Guests of the event will enjoy signature items from Rockit, creative cocktails, a silent auction, raffles and most exciting, a live performance by various featured members of the Chicago Blues Beautillion.
