“This album [Transit-Eons] is a must-listen for fans of independent music. It’s inventive, creative as hell, and rewarding to enjoy. I rarely ever give praise of this magnitude. I’m a harsh critic, and frequent readers of my website know that all too well.”

Howdy! This is Paul and Ivan from Pinto and the Bean. We’re a Chicago indie rock duo and we started this band with just a drum set, an acoustic guitar, and both our vocals.

Little did we know that this band would evolve into electronic kalimbas, iPads, melodicas, an array of keyboards, iPods, and a morphed acoustic guitar, all floating beneath our battling vocals. Most recently we’ve been compared to bands like Joy Division, Arcade Fire, Chvrches, and Death Cab for Cutie.

On Saturday, December 5th, we’ll be performing songs from our new Transit-Eons EP for our release show at the intimate Gallery Cabaret.

This marks the first time in four years we’re releasing a record, and we couldn’t be prouder of it. After a hiatus that turned us into hermits and left us writing music inside our little Chicago home studio away from the world, one day in early April, we decided to put songs together for an EP. We gave ourselves a two-month deadline to record, produce, and mix this whole thing ourselves, which was a huge learning experience.

We make music because it’s what fuels our souls and sharing our art with others is what drives us forward. It would be an honor to have you join us as we celebrate our Transit-Eons EP release at the Gallery Cabaret on December 5th.  Joining us for the grand party will be Radiant Devices, Bad Bad Meow, and White Syrens.
