American Cancer Society Making Strides of Chicago

Put on your pink and help finish the fight against Breast Cancer! Head out to Soldier Field on Saturday October 24th to walk and raise funds for the American Cancer Society Making Strides of Chicago! Each step of the 5K is a step in the direction of better education, awareness, and a world with more birthdays. You won’t be alone whether you want to walk as a team or as an individual. Everyone will be there to show support for survivors, those currently fighting, and those affected by breast cancer in any way.

I Am Who I Am Foundation for Down Syndrome

Hi, I am Holly Simon and the mother of 5 kids. When my 5th child was born here in Chicago everyone in the delivery room noticed that Nate had Down Syndrome. Unfortunately the usual CONGRATULATIONS were not heard. The doctors and nurses all said that they were sorry to my husband and I. Can you imagine? The fears? The horror? "Sorry" must mean he was dying.

Chicago Fire Soccer Club 4th Annual White Party

On August 7th, the Chicago Fire Soccer Club is hosting the fourth annual White Party at the MCA Warehouse. Named one of the Chicago Tribune’s top parties of 2013, this marquee event will feature a premium open bar, food from top Chicago restaurants including Rockit Bar & Grill, a live DJ, appearances by Chicago Fire players and more! Guests are encouraged to dress in their best white attire and get ready for a unique event that they surely won’t forget.

Windy City Rubber Duck Derby

For the past few years, I have attended the Windy City Rubber Duck Derby here in Chicago. For those of you who haven’t been to the Rubber Duck Derby you can go on Thursday, August 7th. The event is held every year to benefit the Special Olympics of Illinois. Since 1968 the organization has been helping people with intellectual disabilities, and there are over 22,000 athletes who participate in this program.
