A catwalk, the latest fashions, batting averages. You’ll find all three when current and former Cubs players take to the runway for the first Strike a Pose celebrity fashion show to benefit the David DeJesus Family Foundation on Thursday, January 17th at the River East Art Center. Kim and David DeJesus will co-chair the event and all funds raised will benefit ALS research, patient care and family support for those afflicted by the disease, a cause near to their hearts.
See Anthony Rizzo, Lindsay and Darwin Barney, Sarah and Kerry Wood and more strut the catwalk with fashion provided by the 900 North Michigan Shops. Some of Chicago’s hottest restaurants have stepped up to the plate to donate great bites for the night: Bull and Bear, Chicago Q, RPM Italian, Shaw’s, Wow Bao and dessert by Glazed and Infused (donuts are the new cupcakes). All the bases are covered with a great auction and DJ Kasper K who will get the crowd dancing post-show. Single tickets are $250 or reserved seating with table service for four is available for $2,500. For tickets or information, click here. All the cool people will be there…hope to see you there!

Today, everyone has been affected by breast cancer in some way; for me it was my cousin Carrie Kenney. Carrie was a fun-loving, young woman who was diagnosed at the very young age of 27 and looked to Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization for support. After she lost her battle in 2004, I was determined to make a contribution to the organization that had given so much to my cousin when she needed it the most. To date, Tickled Pink has raised over $800,000 for Y-ME and hopes to reach the goal of $1 million by 2013!
