“The Best is Yet To Come” 

Join the Alzheimer’s Association and support a great cause at The 28th Annual Alzheimer’s Association Chicago Rita Hayworth Gala! On Saturday May 9th the annual spring black tie will take place at the Hilton Chicago and is expected to attract more than 900 guests and includes a cocktail reception, three-course dinner, program, auctions and live music featuring Orchestra 33’s Party Gras Band! This year’s theme is “The Best is Yet to Come”, which pays tribute to a life one day without the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s disease.

The Alzheimer’s Association’s mission is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research, to provide and enhance care and support for all affected, and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. In Illinois Alone as many as 210,000 residents are living with Alzheimer’s and more than 589,000 family members and friends provided unpaid care.

Princess Yasmin Aga Khan, daughter of the legendary film star, established the Rita Hayworth Galas to pay tribute to her mother, Rita Hayworth, who lived with Alzheimer’s for many years before succumbing to the disease in 1987. Under Princess Yasmin Aga Khan’s leadership, more than $65 million has been raised through the Chicago, Palm Beach and New York Rita Hayworth events.

Along with Princess Yasmin Aga Khan serving as general chair of the event, the Chicago gala committee is led by chairs Susan and Jim Draddy as well as Ana Cummins, Fifi Levin, Brooke MacLean, Blythe and David Mendelson, Maggie Murzanski, Laurie Rose, Karen Segal, Barbie and Bruce Taylor, Cindy Trestman and other civic leaders.

This year, the Alzheimer’s Association will present the Champion Award to Choose Chicago, for lifting up the city where the Association is headquartered and connecting our community to the cause. A tribute to our visionary Founder and President, Jerome H. Stone, who passed away in January at the age of 101, will also take place.
