It’s a pretty well known fact that Red Bull events NEVER disappoint.  What’s their secret?  I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s as simple as “thinking outside of the box.”  Red Bull is always a hop, skip and a jump ahead of the curve, hosting events that aren’t even on the rest of the world’s radar.  So, I wasn’t surprised to learn that Red Bull Thre3Style is, yet again, like nothing else out there.

Yes, it’s technically considered a DJ battle, but unlike other spinning sets that you typically see, Thre3Stlye has a creative and original format, highlighting crowd interest, involvement, and well, how rockin’ the party ultimately is.

A panel of judges, including Big Once, Four Color Zack, and Pumpin Pete, will watch and listen as competing DJs – Boi Jeanius, MaddJazz, PHNM, Slugo, and Trentino – play three different genres of music for 15 minutes.  That’s right, THREE different genres of music.  They’ll then select the winners based upon the following: track selection, creativity, mixing skills, stage presence, and, most importantly, crowd reaction.  The prize?  An always coveted prize purse AND bragging rights, of course.  The best of the night will also advance to the world finals, somewhere every DJ hopes to be.

Thre3Stlye will be hosted by the infamous Hollywood Holt and will take place at Reggies on Thursday, January 31st beginning at 9pm.  And I promise, like all other Red Bull events, it won’t disappoint.
