Today is the BIG DAY…Giving Tuesday. Are you looking for a way to contribute locally and make a big difference…Look no further….

‘Tis the season…to give. What better way than to support local nonprofit Children’s Oncology Services, Inc. on national #GivingTuesday on November 29th that is observed for people to give back to their favorite nonprofits. From #GivingTuesday (November 29th) through the end of the year, anyone who donates to Children’s Oncology Services, Inc. can qualify to have their gift matched by The Ellen Marks Cancer Foundation. The Ellen Marks Cancer Foundation will match gifts received through this holiday appeal, dollar for dollar, up to the first $25,000 raised in support of One Step Programs serving children who have been diagnosed with cancer.

Children’s Oncology Services, Inc. operates One Step Programs, which give children facing cancer a chance to meet and bond with other pediatric cancer patients and survivors in a non-hospital setting. Many of these programs are provided to families at no cost. Their goal is to raise $90,000 by December 31st and help send 90 more kids to camp in 2017 through this holiday campaign and matching gift challenge sponsored by  The Ellen Marks Cancer Foundation. The organization is supported by more than 350 volunteers, including medical professionals, who generously donate their time and services.

Children’s Oncology Services Inc. now offers 11 One Step Programs throughout the year, developed for both children and teens (ages 5-19), and a few specialty camps that serve their parents and siblings as well.  This past year, approximately 680 campers were served through their multiple One Step Programs, several of which are held near Lake Geneva, WI. Since 1978, more than 13,500 campers have attended One Step Programs, making them a local leader in providing empowering, supportive and fun experiences for young people who have been diagnosed with cancer.
