Matt Matros is the founder of Protein Bar, a fast casual health concept serving high protein, nutrient-rich menu items for on-the-go customers. He opened the first restaurant in Chicago in May 2009 after shedding 60 pounds by following a high-protein diet. He created the eatery as a place where healthy food providing the right balance of protein, good fat and healthy carbs can be universally accessible and affordable. Protein Bar serves customizable high-protein blended drinks, bowls, fresh-made chili, soups, salads, and the signature Protein Bar-ritos.

Protein Bar is about to celebrate our entry into the Chicago neighborhoods! Our new Lincoln Park location at 1953 North Clybourn will officially open its doors on Saturday, February 15th. We’re grateful to our customers for helping us get to where we are today so we’re excited to reward the first 100 people through the door with a $500 gift card!! Lines for the contest are expected to begin forming at 6 a.m. that morning and we will be there to entertain with sunrise yoga, interval classes, organic coffee and snacks, and music/games provided by 101.9 THE MIX. Doors will officially open for business at 11 a.m. with a full menu being offered. We have also partnered with Uber to give our customers free rides to the new restaurant, so it for sure should be a fun day!

Our customers have long been asking us for a restaurant location in the neighborhoods to make it more convenient for them in the early morning, evening and weekends. They asked and we do our best to deliver because we want to be a convenient and accessible health food destination for a long time to come.

To kick off the latest Protein Bar addition, we are hosting several pre-opening events at the new location this week, open to all, which include:
