The David DeJesus Family Foundation and Cubs Charities Host “Strike A Cord” Celebrity Karaoke Benefit

My husband David may have been traded to another team, but that does not stop us from returning home and hosting a charity fundraiser with his former teammates. The David DeJesus Family Foundation has teamed up with Cubs Charities to host “Strike a Chord” Celebrity Karaoke to benefit ALS research, a disease which has affected our close friend Brian Schnurstein. The event will feature David, myself, Ryan Chiaverini (Windy City LIVE), Jeff Hoover (WGN), B96 Morning Show team, Danni Allen (winner of Biggest Loser) and Cubs players teaming up with local media personalities and Chicagoans to compete on the microphone. In addition to cocktails, food will be provided by American Junkie, Chicago Q, Siena Tavern, Wow Bao and GT Fish & Oyster.

Nike North v South Softball Battle w/ White Sox AJ Pierzynski, Bears Johnny Knox, Rockit Ranch Billy Dec & more!

Via Meghan Goulette: Had such a fun afternoon in the park yesterday with our CEO, Billy Dec, after invited to watch him play in the Nike Northside vs Southside Challenge. White Sox player AJ Pierzynski may have coached the Southside team to a victory, but Billy and the Northside crew gave them a run for their money (led by Johnny Knox of the Chicago Bears who stepped in to coach when Cubs’ Ryan Dempster ended up on DL). The event showcased the Nike Fuel Band, keeping stats on calories (check the video for Johnny poking a little fun at Billy’s stats), steps & more…I actually just bought the band for my dad! Highlight of the game by far was Billy’s double play complete with a sky high catch (AJ coined it the “2nd best catch ever”…see what he called first best in the video). Shout out to all the players listed below!

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off Bar Crawl!

I’m sure most of you have seen the infamous 1980’s film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and what better way to relive this film than with a bar crawl, themed to Ferris Bueller’s iconic day of hooky! This Sunday, July 24th is the Ferris Bueller’s Day Off Bar Crawl. Participants will travel throughout the city, visiting landmarks that Ferris himself visited and be able to lean their heads against the Willis Tower Skydeck, attend a Cubs game, and even partake in some karaoke just as Ferris Bueller did. Unfortunately, the karaoke session will not take place on float during a parade through the streets of Chicago, but some “Danke Schoen and Twist and Shout” are highly encouraged.
