Chicago startups are looking beyond the newest products and services this holiday season. This year, Freebie and Bucketfeet have partnered to donate shoes to the Boys & Girls Club of Chicago in an effort to help kids in need with a new pair of kicks.

The production includes Cole Porter’s hits “You’re the Top,” “Friendship,” “It’s De-Lovely,” and, of course, “Anything Goes.” Broadway In Chicago is doing a ticket giveaway to Roundabout Theater Company’s ANYTHING GOES to the Wednesday, May 1 performance at 7:30 p.m. at the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W. The Pretty Muddy women’s mud run is arriving in Chicago on Saturday, September 15th at Pretty Muddy Farms in Orland Park. And if you hurry, you can register before the event sells out! What can you expect? A women-only event featuring obstacles, great activities, a pretty awesome after party and yes, the opportunity to get muddy.

I love the city of Chicago! No, really I do. Especially in the summer time! There’s always something going on, right? Well, if you didn’t know that and find yourself bored on the weekends you can look forward to festival season. It’s quickly approaching and the city and burbs (yes, I know it’s suburbs) offer a variety of activities during the warm months. From the middle of May till the end of September, you can catch something every weekend.

Cancer doesn’t target an age, gender, or ethnicity- it can happen to anyone. It is one of the most well known diseases in the world and affects not only adults, but children each and every day. On January 29^th you can participate in “Step Up For Kids”, an event benefitting Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago and the Family Services Department and help fight the battle against children’s cancers.
