VIDEO: The Scissors Cover Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got To Do With It”

I want to share with you one of my favorite local Chicago bands, The Scissors. More importantly I’m here to get your eyeballs on their new music video cover song of Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got To Do With It” starring Yvonne Szumski in her new role as lead singer. (She used to be one of the guitarists with Darren Vorel as the lead vocalist.)

At the time of this post this video has 1,360 views–half of which are probably from me, and coming from a fan who was used to hearing guitarist Darren as the singer, I’m happy to report that while it’s quite different with Yvonne doing lead vocals, it’s the good kind of different. (No offense Darren, I still love “Let’s Go” which has 37,000+ views… Damn!)

You may also recognize a familiar face in Ken Fletcher, formerly of one of Chicago’s more successful bands, The Plain White T’s. Check out the video below, and don’t forget to check out The Scissors playing a free acoustic show next Thursday night at Rockit Wrigley.
