One of the city’s most celebrated charity events is almost here! This Saturday, Sept. 7th, celebrate Green Tie Ball with Chicago Gateway Green, the organization dedicated to greening and beautifying Chicago. This year marks the 22nd annual gala, and the theme is ‘Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory.’


The event is held at the incredible A. Finkl & Sons and has tastings from over 50 of Chicago’s top restaurants, as well as multiple open bars with premium offerings. There is live entertainment and guest deejays throughout the night, and it’s always a great time. Last year, there were nearly 3,000 attendees, $450,000 was raised!

Never an event to shy away from top entertainment, this year’s gala will feature DJ sets by SNDCLSH consisting of DJ Lupe Fiasco and DJ Sky Gellatly. Fiasco, a Chicago native, is a Grammy nominated artist. Co-chair Lee Golub and his band Dr. Bombay will also take the stage, as well as other guest deejays throughout the evening.


There’s a VIP reception, where guests arriving on the Green Carpet adorned in their most marvelous green-tie attire are greeted with a champagne toast and can then head to the silent auction and Rivers Casino charitable gaming area, which has roulette, blackjack and craps.  You can use your winnings toward tickets for the spectacular raffle!

VIP tickets are $250, $275 at the door and include admission to the VIP cocktail reception and gala; the gala ticket is $150 pre-purchased and $175 at the door; and there are a limited number of V-VIP Oompa Loompa lounges for $3,500; $5,000 and $7,500, which includes a designated reserved lounge area for the duration of the evening, located in the heart of the action. Each booth also includes ten VIP tickets with access into the lounge area, bottle service, advance access to the charitable gaming and silent auction, reserved VIP gift bags, additional promo support and more!
